Shipping & Return Policy
SUMMER SHIPPING: During warm summer/early fall starting May 1st - October 19th we will only be shipping Monday/Tuesday to allow maximum weekday travel time to ensure safe arrival of your order.
When you order products from Gourmet Boutique you can be assured we will ship your merchandise with the utmost care. We use only the best shipping processes to deliver products that are fresh and simply superb right to your door. Please check the information below to review our shipping policies.
Please check all addresses carefully. Gourmet Boutique guarantees delivery only to the addresses that we are provided with. If we are unable to deliver the package, we will return your order to our distribution center. If the product arrives in good condition, we can send the package back out to you and charge you only the shipping and handling. If the product does not arrive in good condition, you will be responsible for the charges of a new order. Gourmet Boutique can not be held responsible for packages that are returned to us due to notice of “undeliverable address”.
All items are shipped from our fulfillment center in Boston, MA. We strive to ship orders within 24-48 hours of being placed (business days only). We ship orders on Mondays and Wednesdays. We do not ship orders on Fridays or weekends. Delays may occur due to weather, product availability or other circumstances. The shipping process for each location is as follows.
Orders shipping via ground shipping will arrive within 5 - 10 business days.
Unfortunately, we cannot offer the Ground shipping option to all destinations because our product is time and temperature sensitive - we want the products to reach you and your gift recipients looking and tasting just as fresh as it does when it leaves our shop.
No Signature Required
All ground orders are shipped "no signature required " which means the package will be left at the shipping address, which may mean simply left on a residential doorstep. We are not responsible if the package is lost or stolen after carrier has completed the delivery.
For overnight delivery (regular and early morning), orders placed by Thursday 12 p.m. EST will ship that day. Orders placed after that will ship the following Monday.
For overnight delivery on Friday, customers can choose Saturday delivery for orders placed by Friday at 11 a.m. EST.
Carrier requires a signature for delivery to an apartment and someone must be present to accept the delivery with a signature unless otherwise requested for all packages shipped expedited shipping method.
Orders containing perishables, placed between 12 p.m. EST Thursday and 12 p.m. EST Monday, will ship on Monday if a Saturday delivery is not chosen or available.
This service is available in limited areas for an additional fee.
Perishables Shipping Options:
Please note that all perishable items are automatically shipped NEXT DAY (next business day) to ensure your products arrive in superb condition. All fresh and frozen food products are carefully packaged to maintain optimum quality. As needed, your order will be packed with dry ice or ice packs and placed in an insulated container for shipment.
Shipping Over the Weekend
If you are shipping a package to a warm weather destination over a weekend, your package may be held until the following Monday to ensure minimal time in transit.
Shipping chocolate is tricky business. We work hard to ensure that our chocolate is delivered fresh and in perfect condition. To reduce the risk of melted chocolate on orders in transit to warmer climates (70 degrees Fahrenheit and higher), a $10.00 charge for ice packs may be added to your order during checkout. Please note from late spring to October we only offer 2nd Day Air and Next Day shipping for all perishable items. No ground packages for perishables will ship between late spring and early fall.
When Will My Order Arrive?
All Orders leave our Boston facility within 48-72 hours of processing, subject to inventory availability. In order to ensure the best possible product, orders cannot ship over the weekend during warm weather months. Thus, Standard shipping packages may be held until the following Monday to ensure minimal time in transit.

Gourmet Boutique takes great pride in selecting the finest products available. If for some reason, you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may return it for replacement or store credit or refund. Unfortunately, we do not accept returns of perishable items. We do not accept returned items that were purchased in our retail location, nor will our retail location accept returned items purchased from our website. We will accept non-perishable returns within 15 days of order receipt. We cannot send a replacement, credit or refund for the purchase until we have the product back in inventory. If the product does not arrive in good condition to return to stock, then we will not be able to send a replacement, credit or refund for the purchase.
Wrap the package well, include the return form found along with the packing list/invoice enclosed in your order and ship it to us at the address below. Remember to insure it for full value. Shipping charges are not refundable.
Shipping options to Alaska and Hawaii are determined by delivery area. Therefore, orders to these areas must be placed directly with a store representative.
Please place your order online and a representative will contact you with shipping options and fees to the specific destination in Alaska or Hawaii.
Promotional Shipping Codes
Promotional shipping offers apply to orders that meet applicable sale amounts in merchandise before normal taxes and shipping/handling rates shipping to a single address only. Promotions do not apply to overnight delivery, 2nd day or Saturday delivery unless specifically denoted. Not valid outside the 48 contiguous United States, or to PO Boxes, APOs and FPOs. Cannot be combined with any other offer, or applied to previous orders.
Orders are shipped within 48 hours. Orders may be tracked via the package tracking number included in the customer’s order summary page (online orders only). During the holiday season, order lead times may increase. All orders are shipped via UPS or FedEx or USPS.
Local/Courier Delivery Temporarily Unavailable
Courier delivery is available for the city of Boston and suburbs within a 20 mile driving area of Boston. Same Day Delivery may be arranged starting at $19.95 per package and delivery address. Restrictions may apply. Select Boston Courier as your shipping method. Please call Gourmet Boutique directly for courier pricing information or to place an order for local delivery. Additional fees for Saturday/Sunday delivery may apply.
